Public Services

  • Child Seat Installations
  • The Baldwinsville Police Department has specially trained officers available to install child safety seats in vehicles. Please call the Police Department at 315-635-3131, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm to schedule an appointment.
  • Station Tours
  • Tours of the police department can be scheduled by contacting the police department at 315-635-3131. Tours are generally done Monday-Friday between 9:00am-4:00pm.
  • Community Speaking Events/Meetings
  • Members of the Baldwinsville Police Department are available to speak on a variety of topics to your community group. Contact the Police Department at 315-635-3131 Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm to schedule an officer to speak at your function.
  • Prescription Medication/Sharps Drop Off
  • If you have any medications or sharps to dispose of you may respond to the police department Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm and use the door bell at either the front door or back door of the building and someone will be able to assist you.
  • House Property Checks
  • The Baldwinsville Police Department provides regular checks of homes when residents are away on vacation. If you are planning a trip away from home, you can either:
  • Complete out the House Check Form located in the Forms & Applications tab and;
  • Drop it off at the police department Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:00pm or
  • Mail the completed form to the police department or
  • Fax the completed form to the police department at 315-635-7868.
  • Contact the Police Department at 315-635-3131, Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:00pm to schedule the check.
  • Business Blue Cards
  • During the overnight hours, officers of the Baldwinsville Police Department regularly check Village businesses to make sure they are secure. When the officers do this they leave behind a “blue card” indicating which officer checked the business, along with the date and time.
  • Citizen-Ride Along
  • The Baldwinsville Police Department offers residents the opportunity to ride along with an officer during their patrol shift. Contact the Police Department at 315-635-3131, Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:00pm to schedule a ride-along.
  • You may complete the Application for a Citizen-Ride Along which is located in the Forms & Applications tab on this web site and bring it with you to your scheduled ride along.

Specialized Assignments

  • Bicycle Patrol
  • Officers will patrol highly populated areas in the Village utilizing bicycles during island events, parades, summer events to ensure the safety of all citizens.
  • Foot Patrol
  • Officers will walk within the Village conducting foot patrol especially on the village trails to ensure the safety of all citizens.
  • Traffic Enforcement
  • The Police Department participates in traffic initiatives such as, Buckle-Up New York and enforcement campaigns targeting aggressive driving.
  • Officers are assigned Strategic Traffic Enforcement Detail (STEP Detail) which targets specific types of traffic enforcement in specific locations within the Village.
